Your Donation is Appreciated!
Last year, over 400 individuals participated in the K5K and $13,500 was raised for college scholarships!
As with any non-profit organization, the K5K relies on sponsors to help make the event successful. The cost to host a 5K run and a 1 mile fun walk can range from several thousand dollars up to over ten thousand dollars. Most organizations that are involved in road racing rely on entry fees from their participants to cover the cost of the race.
The K5K has made a commitment to donate ALL entry fees received to the Kayla N. Hurst Memorial Scholarship Fund. Therefore, the K5K must rely on other sources of revenue to pay for the cost of the race. This cost/revenue model allows 100% of the entry fees to be used for scholarships. It is for this reason the K5K is requesting your assistance.
Sponsorship Levels
Currently, there are 2 different types of sponsorships for the K5K, the Corporate Sponsor and the In-Kind Sponsor. Corporate sponsorship is divided into three different commitment levels as shown below:
- GOLD LEVEL SPONSOR: $1,000 and up
- SILVER LEVEL SPONSOR: $500 up to $999
- BRONZE LEVEL SPONSOR: $250 up to $499
*A very gracious thank you to Huntington Bank who has been a gold level sponsor from the beginning and who increased its contribution by 50% last year!!! THANK YOU!
In-Kind Sponsorship Level
A second type of sponsorship is the In-Kind Sponsor. Organizations that want to assist the K5K can do so by providing much needed materials for the race. Each year the K5K is in great need of race numbers, food, beverages, ice, cups, give-aways for the race packets, advertising, race course signs, etc.
Where do the commitments go?
Sponsorship commitments and funds received from Corporate sponsors are utilized for items needed for the K5K 5k run and 1 mile fun walk. Some of these necessities include a timer to time the race, age-group awards, T-shirts for the race participants, and the cost of law enforcement officers who patrol the race route.
The Benefits of Being a K5K Sponsor
The K5K is extremely grateful for the assistance provided by each of its sponsors. Each sponsor donating at the gold or silver level will be recognized by having its logo placed on each T-shirt that is provided to the race participants. All bronze levels sponsors will have their name placed on each T-shirt. Sponsors will be sub-divided according to their category level of giving. A sponsor’s logo or name will also be placed on all marketing material used by the K5K as well as on this, the official website of the K5K.
